Registration

Overview

Registrations for conferences can be complicated, reflecting an array of options and time-contingent fee structures. ASSETS is no different. Allow us to help make sense of things. We have:

• Four registration types:
• (1) ACM member
• (2) Non-member
• (3) Student ACM member
• (4) Student non-member

If you are not yet an ACM member, it often makes financial sense to become one before registering. See ACM membership options .

• Three registration periods: early bird, regular, and late/on-site. Generally, it is best to register early to save costs and help us plan events.
• Two conference experiences: the in-person conference in Porto, Portugal, and a virtual attendance option.
• In-person and virtual workshops: workshop registration is not yet open while the final workshop list is being confirmed. Conference registrants will be able to add workshop registration once it becomes available. In-Person Conference

ASSETS 2026 is planned primarily as an in-person event, with a virtual attendance option for which details are still being developed. Check the Venue page for information on reserving a room at The Hilton Porto Gaia with the ASSETS room rate.

We are planning a vibrant in-person conference experience with an exciting technical program, ample opportunities for networking, hands-on demos, and evening social events.

Sessions in the main conference hall will be interpreted into ASL and captioned by CART providers. If you are bringing a personal assistant for accessibility support, email the treasurer at treasurer-assets26@acm.org to learn how to register them.

At least one author of each accepted submission is expected to register for the full in-person conference by the early bird deadline, whether they attend in person or virtually.

In-Person Conference Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received on or before September 21, 2026, at 23:59 AoE (Anywhere on Earth) are entitled to a 50% refund based on the registration amount paid. No refunds will be given after that deadline unless the cancellation is for visa reasons. If your visa is denied, you may be asked to provide evidence, and you will be refunded the in-person registration amount less a USD $50 processing fee.

The conference committee recognizes that last-minute cancellations sometimes cannot be avoided. However, the conference incurs expenses based on the number of registrations. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to registration-assets26@acm.org .

Virtual Conference

Virtual Conference Cancellation Policy
